Welcome to Kid City!
Please allow us the privilege of caring and sharing with your children. First Christian Church cares about children and all aspects of their development, including their spiritual growth. We have programming for infants through 5th graders every Sunday. Stop by the Children’s Welcome Center to register your child for their class.
For your child’s safety, our children’s ministry utilizes a check-in/check-out procedure each Sunday. You will be given a unique security code that will match your child's ID tag, used during check-out. You will need to provide the check-out tag to pick up your children from their classroom each week. Plan to come a little early on your first visit so that we can put your information into our check-in station.
Your child can participate in a variety of activities and events outside of the weekend worship experience. Kids are able to enjoy Vacation Bible School in the summer, Trunk or Treat in the Fall, and other age-appropriate events all year around.
All volunteers who serve with our kids have gone through our child protection program process and passed a criminal background check. They have also been equipped with materials and trained to provide Bible-based lessons that are engaging, fun, and appropriate for their classes.
Vacation Bible School
VBS registration is now live! ROAR VBS is June 10-14 from 9:30a to 12:00 noon. Children must be at least 3 years old (and fully potty trained by June 10) through completed 5th grade. A separate registration form must be completed for each child you are registering.
Attention 4th & 5th graders: Again this year at VBS, we will be doing something special with 4th and 5th graders! Each day we will go off campus and play games, participate in activities, eat ice cream, and listen to a devotional from our High School student leaders. Parents will still drop off and pick up their child at the normal VBS times, and the 4th and 5th grade will still participate in both the worship and missions experiences of VBS.

Kid City Sunday Programming
Super Kids: Sometimes referred to as “children’s church”, Super Kids is a large group worship experience during the 10:00 hour created for kids in grades K-5. Their praise and worship time, prayer experience and Bible lessons introduce them to the beginning basics of a relationship with Jesus and allow them to develop lasting relationships with their friends and teachers.
Wee Worship: Also held during the 10:00 hour, Wee Worship engages our preschoolers through fun Bible lessons and hands-on learning activities where they begin to understand God’s love for them.
Nursery and Toddler Rooms: Children who are under the age of 3 have a safe place to play and learn that God loves them in our infant nursery and toddler rooms. These rooms are equipped with age appropriate toys, cribs and changing rooms. Parents are provided with pagers that allow for instant communication with the parents during the service, if necessary.
Sunday Night Kids is our Sunday night programming for preschool through 5th grade. We offer events and gatherings on Sundays during the school year to aid students in making relationships and to allow them to feel more comfortable inviting their friends to church.
NOTE: FIRST CHRISTIAN STRIVES TO KEEP EVERY KID SAFE AND HEALTHY
The following policy is designed for the health and safety of each child in our church school departments. Although we realize as parents we cannot always know when our children are becoming ill or contagious, we ask that you follow these guidelines to hopefully keep the spread of contagious illnesses/diseases to a minimum. If your child is exhibiting any of the following symptoms, please do not bring him/her into his/her class:
- Fever greater than 100
- Excessive coughing, runny nose
- Questionable rash
- Lethargy (marked decrease of normal activity)
- Chicken Pox
- Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)
If your child is being treated with antibiotics, he/she should be on the drug for at least 24 hours before going into his/her classroom. Likewise, a child should be “fever free” for 24 hours before entering their class.
